AN: Many thanks to
nickygabriel for organising such a fantastic big bang and for being so welcoming.
Thank you to
charlies_dragon,
penumbria_fics and
croix_souillees for liking the idea of this story enough to sign on as my artists. You are all fantastic, talented people! Your art is just gorgeous! Thank you! :)
And thank you to the Hobbit fandom, which is filled with wonderful people and fabulous ideas. I owe particular thanks to Scatha for the guide to speaking Dark Tongue (found Here), The Dwarrow Scholar and David Salo for words and phrases of Khuzdul. All mistakes are of course my own.
Some ideas are expanded on art from WETA artists in the Hobbit Chronicles. Also naturally The Hobbit movies. I hope you enjoy the story! :)

Date: 2015-05-14 03:02 pm (UTC)Fantasic!
Date: 2015-05-14 07:06 pm (UTC)OMG! How fast are you?! This absolutely fantastic! Thorin is both endearing and somewhat terrifying - you are so on target! And poor Fili and Kili! God they're lovely. And Azog - is so gleefully evil *shakes fist*. And Bifur's little carving. I want one! It's so cute. I absolutely love Bilbo so determined, and somewhat creepy with the side of his face all bloody. He's not the same hobbit anymore. And your subtlety with the ring - superb! Thank you, my dear! :) This is fantastic!
Re: Fantasic!
Date: 2015-05-15 02:08 am (UTC)Honestly, I'm very very very VERY slow. The details gave me loads of trouble, but also because I had to work on this in between work and hand cramps (lol)
I've honestly tried to portray as much of the fic in symbolism though mostly just taking stuff literally, except for the case of the ring. I HONESTLY WANT A LITTLE CARVING. Bifur really touched me; yeah, all the others had their own impact, but Bifur was different in that he was the only one who outright reminded Bilbo of who it was they were following.
BIFUR. /breaks chairs since I've run out of tables
For the record, my friend said that Thorin looked like he was obsessed with the acorn. I really laughed.
Thank YOU for the lovely fic.

Date: 2015-05-15 08:02 pm (UTC)Considering when you sent me that draft, I have to disagree. You finished that illustration amazingly quickly by my standards! Ow. I hope your hands are okay. Did you try those wrist stretches on that video going around tumbler?
You did a fantastic job! I should get a chunk of wood and get started, shouldn't I? It would probably take years. LEGO Thorin will have to do XD I love Bifur. You're exactly right. For all his crazy, I think he 's got sight of things that are import.
*lends you some tables (not mine XD)*
ROFL. He totally does. Oh, that would be a fantastic story. The King of Erebor gets acorn sickness and hoards nuts in the mountain XD
You are most welcome!

Date: 2015-05-15 12:52 am (UTC)You're writing, like, the most perfect version of this specific story that could exist.
I have chewed off three fingernails while reading it.
*Greedily scrabbles for more*
